Legal Entity & Data Controller

Datantra is owned and operated by Without The Rope Inc., a corporation registered in Canada. For the purposes of data protection regulations, Without The Rope Inc. is the data controller for any account-related information (such as your email address) provided to this service.

The short version

Your files never reach our servers. Conversion happens entirely inside your browser. We cannot read, store, or share what you process — technically or legally — because we never receive it.

What we collect

If you create an account: your email address and a hashed password. Nothing else. We do not collect your name, payment details directly (handled by our payment processor), or any information about the files you convert.

What we do not collect

• The CSV files you upload
• The JSON output you produce
• Any content within your data files
• Browsing behaviour or content-level analytics

AI & machine learning

We do not use your data to train machine learning models — and we are not able to, because we never receive your files. This is a deliberate architectural decision. Many online AI tools process your uploads on their servers, which means your data can become training material. Datantra is built so that is impossible.

Third-party services

We use Firebase (Google) for account authentication and application hosting. Firebase receives standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps) as part of hosting. We also use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data — see the Analytics section below. We do not use advertising networks or behavioural tracking SDKs.

Analytics — The Honest Version

We use Google Analytics. There. We said it.

Here's what it collects: the country and city you're browsing from, the pages you visit, your device type, and how long you stick around. No names. No email addresses. No file contents — those never touch our servers anyway.

Why do we collect this at all? Because we're trying to find you. Specifically, the version of you that's still uploading sensitive spreadsheets to a random website called “csvconvert-free.io” or something equally concerning. We track geography because we want to know which regions of the world are most exposed to data-privacy risks through careless tooling — and then push Datantra there. Our mission isn't just to build a private tool; it's to make private tooling the default, everywhere.

You can opt out anytime via your browser's privacy settings or a GA opt-out extension.

Cookies

We use session cookies only to keep you logged in. No tracking cookies, no cross-site identifiers.

Data retention

Account data (email) is retained until you delete your account. Conversion data is never stored — there is nothing to retain or delete.
